'Funky Town' came to Bolesworth Castle on 26th April for a fabulous 70's inspired fashion event! The grand venue was transformed for the joint fashion show of luxury shoe designer Cleo Barbour of Cleo B and Sam Brightmore from Bottega, Tarporley.
Bolesworth Castle is Cleo's family home and the prestigious building threw open its doors to welcome an audience of long-standing clients to raise funds for Claire House Children's Hospice. The event successfully collected over £1,000 for charity through raffle sales and a percentage of sale donations from the two designers, whilst raising awareness for the independent retailers.
The catwalk was inspired by the vibrancy of Studio 54 fused with the flirty fun of Miami Beach. Sheer pleated skirts by Des Petits Hauts were teamed with Cleo B's famous Sucker MC cassette heels in a colourful parade. Beachwear retailer Rumpus Resort's collection hit the runway to the soundtrack of 'I'm In Miami, Girl' oozing poolside glamour with bathing suits, kaftans and maxi dresses accessorized with Cleo B espadrilles and quirky sandals.
"Take Me To Funky Town" welcomed an exclusive audience of 90 guests from Cheshire society. Those attending included model Alex Leigh, James Golden of Gin and Jag PR and Lady Jude Cisse, wife of Queens Park Ranger footballer Djibril Cisse and patron of Claire House.
"It was a fabulous experience being able to showcase my collection in my own family home, especially alongside Bottega's beautiful summer clothes" said Cleo. "The collections complimented each other perfectly. The intimate gatherint of Sam's long standing customers and Cheshire high flyers was the perfect audience for Cleo B and I now know that there wil be much demand for Cleo Bs in the North West. My brand has been officially welcomed and the opportunity to build on this success has been opened up to me"
